Representation Hearing

A public Representation Hearing was held in The Chamber at City Hall on 28 September 2018, for the Deputy Mayor, Jules Pipe to consider this application in detail and to determine whether or not planning permission should be granted. Following the hearing the Deputy Mayor decided to grant permission for the application subject to planning conditions and conclusion of a section 106 legal agreement

Public Consultation

Following revisions to the application, a public consultation was held from 15 August 2018 – 6 September 2018

Subsequent to the Deputy Mayor’s direction, on 3 August 2018 the applicant submitted revisions in support of the application including:

  • Provision of 3,000 residential units (increase of 100 overall);
  • Provision of 50% affordable housing, of which 80% are intermediate and 20% are affordable rented units;
  • Maximum increase in height of Building K1 by two storeys to 11 storeys;
  • Increase in height of Building K2 by three storeys to 12 storeys;
  • Increase in height of Building K5 by seven storeys to 16 storeys;
  • Increase in height of Building W by two storeys to 8 storeys;
  • Maximum increase in height of Building L by three storeys to 12 storeys;
  • Maximum increase in height of Building H by one storey to 7 storeys;
  • Increase in height of Building J1 by three storeys to 11 storeys;
  • Reorientation of two end-of-terrace houses in Plot 14;
  • Land previously safeguarded beneath the flyover to be incorporated into sitewide public realm;
  • Conversion of Class D1 unit in Building K to flexible use class (class A1, A2 or D1);
  • Increase in 3-bedroom family size units; reorientation of two end-of-terrace houses in Plot 14;
  • Land previously safeguarded beneath the flyover to be incorporated into sitewide public realm;
  • Revision to school plot S1;
  • Reduction of onsite car parking to 1,672 spaces (a reduction of 14 spaces); and
  • Increase in cycle parking spaces to 4,604 spaces (an increase of 204 spaces).
